Katherine Bell – Martin County Firearms Academy, LLC
Like many Black women, I was afraid of guns, that somehow if I touched one someone perhaps even me would get hurt. I have since learned that is not true. What became important for me was to learn how to use them safely and effectively. But then I realized that others needed this training also. With the encouragement and support of The Well Armed Women, LLC, I moved from student to trainer.
Martin County Firearms Academy, LLC was born 2015 from a need to have a safe, comfortable place for women to learn how to shoot handguns. When I took my CCH class and other training, there were those who made me feel as if I didn't belong. As I continued to train all over the country I was thrilled to find that everyone wasn't like that.
I am now a certified NRA Pistol Instructor, Chief Range Safety Officer, Inside the Home Protection Instructor and Refuse to be a Victim, seminar presenter and most importantly Certified by TWAW to train women in the safe handling of pistols.
Martin County Firearms teamed up with the MCLEO, Association that allows us to use their range for training in a safe and secure environment.
Being a small business allows me and my staff to give personal attention to each and every student that attends classes at the Academy..
