Kaluwa Ghalikar – Holistic Health & Harmony Coach
Simplifying Health & Harmony one cup of tea at a time
When I was 30 years old, I lost my father.
I lost my father from a medical mistake.
Obviously, stating that that sucked doesn’t even begin to cover it. At the time, I was a new mother, and self-preservation suddenly became this priority for me. I didn’t want to one day face missing such a big chunk of my baby’s life.
I completely appreciated the astounding accomplishments that Western medicine had provided our society, yet I became very aware that I didn’t want it to be my answer for preventative healthcare. I was already interested in wellness, but suddenly it got real. I was learning about food and herbs as medicine, and the role of emotions affecting your physical health, which led to this amazing world of alternative medicines – Integrative Nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, herbalism, movement therapy, meditation and more.
I am on this ongoing journey of learning and experiencing, and I use this knowledge to keep myself healthy and balanced, to keep my kids healthy and balanced, and I share it with the people around me that want to experience this too.
My father was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back… truly. So, now I feel like I am continuing to pay it forward by sharing the good that managed to come from his untimely passing. By sharing what I have picked up along the way, I am gifting people with a life of good health and joy, which everyone deserves.
People often ask me about my name. Kaluwa is an African name that translates to “forgotten one”. It was once an honorary name given to hold remembrance for people that died before their time. Until recently, I never realized how I’ve actualized this.
Take time to cherish the things that matter in your life – your health, your family, your dreams, your environment. Let your life be messy because the best parts of it can’t be controlled. Be ok with pissing people off because their expectations aren’t your business. Eat the chocolate because it’s freakin’ delicious.
In other words, live the imperfectly amazing life you crave!
